Soul Essence is pleased to bring you Your Monthly Wellbeing Words…
Did you know…?
Did you know the colour, coating, and shape or size of your tongue can be used as a tool to diagnose your health. A healthy tongue is salmon pink/light red, with a thin white, moist coating and is smooth with no cracks. Have a look at your tongue in a bright light!
Colours
Pale – lack of vitamins, minerals, and/or protein.
Red – fever, generally feeling more hot than cold, sweating easily, thirst, tendency to constipation, irritability, skin problems, excess alcohol or coffee consumption, hives or headaches
A red tip – stress, insomnia, tendency for depression, PMT/PMS
Purple – poor circulation of blood or other fluids in the body
Shape/size
Swollen – generally a digestive problem. (if it is swollen on the sides this indicates a problem with the liver.
Coating
Thick white coating – viral illness eg cold, fatigue. A thick white coating at the back of the tongue could indicate poor digestion)
Brown coating – constipation, excess coffee intake
Yellow coating – usually seen with a red tongue. May indicate a tendency to be over heated, irritable, angry or stressed.
Black coating – high fever from dehydration, infectious disease, digestive problems, fungus infection and long term use of antibiotics.
Peeling – dry mouth and throat, over indulgence in spicy food, discomfort in upper abdomen (heartburn/lack of stomach acid), nausea deficiency in B vitamins.
The condition of your tongue can be transformed in just a few weeks. If you are worried about how your tongue looks go and see your doctor. This article is not a diagnosis of illness; if you are not feeling well please go to see your doctor.
Have you ever tried…?
Apricot Kernel Oil – This oil is made from pressing the seeds of apricot. You can use it as a mild salad dressing for a healthier alternative to many of the commercial dressings available but it is equally as good to apply directly to your skin! It is easily absorbed by the skin, which makes it perfect as a natural moisturiser for dry or ageing skin.
Thought of the Month….
…….that there is a solution to every problem.
Nothing is insoluble. Nothing. Do everything that you can to avoid the temptation of thinking that what is facing you now is insurmountable. That is simply not true.
You cannot see the solution; of course, if you are convinced it is not there. So you must have great faith in life. Do you have great faith in life? Now would be a good time to show it. Smile. Relax. It’ll all be okay.
