How the Colours of Energy Connect to our Chakras: Understanding Your Chakras

In the tapestry of our existence, there exists a vibrant spectrum of energy centers known as chakras. These swirling wheels of energy are not only key to our holistic well-being but also hold the power to unlock deeper connections between our mind, body, and spirit. So, let’s embark on a journey to explore the significance of each chakra and how they weave into the fabric of our lives.

What are Chakras?

Chakras, derived from the Sanskrit word for “wheel,” are seven distinct energy centers aligned along our spine, each radiating its own unique frequency and color. These chakras form a bridge between our physical and spiritual selves, influencing our emotional, mental, and physical states.

The Chakras Unveiled:

  1. Root Chakra (Muladhara): Located at the base of the spine, the root chakra grounds us to the Earth. It’s associated with stability, security, and our basic survival needs. Its deep red color symbolizes strength and vitality.
  2. Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana): Situated just below the navel, the sacral chakra governs our creativity, passion, and emotional well-being. Its vibrant orange color signifies joy and enthusiasm.
  3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura): Found in the area of the stomach, the solar plexus chakra is our center of personal power and self-confidence. Its yellow hue represents energy and transformation.
  4. Heart Chakra (Anahata): Nestled in the heart region, the heart chakra is the epicenter of love, compassion, and forgiveness. Its lush green color symbolizes harmony and balance.
  5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha): Located at the throat, the throat chakra governs communication and self-expression. Its serene blue color reflects clarity and authenticity.
  6. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna): Situated between the eyebrows, the third eye chakra represents intuition and inner wisdom. Its indigo shade signifies insight and spiritual awareness.
  7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara): At the crown of the head, the crown chakra connects us to higher consciousness and universal energy. Its pure violet or white color embodies divine spirituality.

The Dance of Balance:

When our chakras are aligned and balanced, energy flows freely, resulting in harmony and well-being. However, stress, emotional turmoil, or physical ailments can disrupt this flow, leading to imbalances. Practicing yoga, meditation, mindful breathing, and energy healing can help restore equilibrium to these energy centers.

Embracing the Journey:

Understanding your chakras is a voyage of self-discovery and personal growth. It’s about cultivating mindfulness and awareness of your own energy. As you delve into the colors of energy, you’re embarking on a quest to harmonize your mind, body, and spirit, nurturing a holistic sense of well-being.Intricate and interconnected, our chakras offer us a profound roadmap to understand ourselves better and unlock our fullest potential. As you paint your life with the vibrant hues of each chakra, may you find yourself immersed in a canvas of balance, vitality, and spiritual awakening.

Here are the seven chakra archetypes and their positive and negative aspects:

  1. Root Chakra: The Root Chakra is located at the base of the spine and is associated with grounding, stability, and security. The positive archetype is the Earth Mother/Father, who provides unconditional love and support. The negative archetype is the Victim, who feels powerless and helpless.
  2. Sacral Chakra: The Sacral Chakra is located in the lower abdomen and is associated with creativity, passion, and pleasure. The positive archetype is the Creative, who is expressive and open to new experiences. The negative archetype is the Addict, who is addicted to pleasure and lacks self-control.
  3. Solar Plexus Chakra: The Solar Plexus Chakra is located in the upper abdomen and is associated with personal power, confidence, and self-worth. The positive archetype is the Warrior, who is strong, confident, and courageous. The negative archetype is the Manipulator, who uses power and control to manipulate others.
  4. Heart Chakra: The Heart Chakra is located in the center of the chest and is associated with love, compassion, and forgiveness. The positive archetype is the Lover, who is open-hearted and full of unconditional love. The negative archetype is the Martyr, who sacrifices themselves for others and lacks self-love.
  5. Throat Chakra: The Throat Chakra is located in the throat and is associated with communication, self-expression, and truth. The positive archetype is the Communicator, who speaks with clarity and authenticity. The negative archetype is the Silent One, who is unable to express themselves and lacks confidence.

The positive archetype is the Seer, who has a deep understanding of themselves and the world around them. The negative archetype is the Skeptic, who lacks trust in their intuition and doubts their inner wisdom.
  7. Crown Chakra: The Crown Chakra is located at the top of the head and is associated with spirituality, connection to the divine, and enlightenment. The positive archetype is the Guru, who has a deep connection to the divine and shares their wisdom with others. The negative archetype is the Egoist, who believes they are above others and lacks humility.

Understanding these archetypes can help us identify areas where we may be out of balance and work towards greater harmony in our lives. By cultivating the positive aspects of each archetype and acknowledging the negative aspects, we can bring greater awareness and healing to our chakra system and our overall well-being.

What Are Chakras and How Balancing Them Can Improve Your Mental and Physical Health

Chakras are energy centres in the body that are believed to play a vital role in our physical, mental, and emotional well-being. In Hindu and Buddhist traditions, there are seven main chakras, each associated with different aspects of our lives, such as our emotions, relationships, and spiritual growth.

Balancing the chakras involves aligning the flow of energy within each of the chakras and restoring balance to the whole system. When the chakras are balanced, it is believed that we experience greater physical, mental, and emotional health.

Here are some of the ways in which balancing your chakras can improve your well-being:

  1. Reduces stress and anxiety: Balancing the chakras can help to reduce stress and anxiety by promoting feelings of calm and peace. When our chakras are out of balance, we may experience feelings of restlessness, irritability, and tension. By restoring balance to the chakras, we can reduce these symptoms and improve our overall well-being.
  2. Boosts self-esteem and confidence: The third chakra, located in the solar plexus, is associated with our self-esteem and confidence. When this chakra is balanced, we feel more secure and confident in ourselves and our abilities.
  3. Improves relationships: The fourth chakra, located in the heart, is associated with our relationships and love. When this chakra is balanced, we are able to form strong and meaningful connections with others, and our relationships are characterised by love, compassion, and understanding.
  4. Increases creativity and intuition: The sixth chakra, located in the forehead, is associated with our intuition and creativity. When this chakra is balanced, we are able to tap into our inner creativity and intuition, and our imagination flows freely.
  5. Promotes spiritual growth: The seventh chakra, located at the crown of the head, is associated with our spiritual growth. When this chakra is balanced, we feel a greater connection to our spiritual selves and a deeper understanding of our place in the world.

Balancing the chakras can be done through practices such as yoga, meditation, visualization, and aromatherapy. By incorporating these practices into your daily routine, you can improve your overall well-being and experience greater physical, mental, and emotional health. In conclusion, balancing your chakras can have a profound impact on your well-being, promoting feelings of peace, confidence, and spiritual growth. By incorporating practices such as yoga, meditation, and aromatherapy into your daily routine, you can improve your overall health and well-being.

What are Chakras?

The chakra system is a template for the flow of subtle energy that runs through all life and through the human energy system. It is like a ladder that takes us from the physical realm of substance up through the workings of the higher mind and spirit and into the realm of divine consciousness.

The subtle energy is the force field surrounding all living things. In the human body, this force field is the aura, and the seven layers of energy referred to as subtle bodies. These control our physical well-being, emotional stability, and mental clarity. They reflect our spiritual state and mirror how we feel about ourselves and life in general.

A chakra resembles a large cone and acts like a vortex drawing energy in. The outer lip catches the accumulated stress of the day. The body of the cone is all our ideas and attitudes about life. The seeds of our destiny are at the very tip where the chakra meets the energetic spine. These seeds cannot be opened until we have worked on removing our negativity and self-limiting beliefs. These beliefs and negativity block our energy.

Chakra energy and function.

When something in life happens that blocks the flow of life energy, the chakras slow down, and energy becomes sluggish and even stagnant. It this is a brief occurrence, the chakra will resume the natural flow. If the block is more permanent, the chakra will need stimulation to become active again. Our health and well-being are subject to our chakras being active and balanced. To find out more about the Chakra system, download my ebook or read my other posts on the individual chakras listed at the bottom of this post.

How Meditation and Energy Healing can Relieve your Arthritic Pain

Meditation is a way of training the mind to be still, and focus on your breath, a candle flame, another object, or voice. By doing this, we learn to relax and be in the present moment.

Photo by George Becker on Pexels.com

When we are stressed, we release stress hormones, which cause inflammation and pain, irritating your joints more.  By relaxing your body and reducing your stress, your body will stop releasing stress hormones that aggravate your joints’ pain.  Meditation helps to release endorphins, our natural pain reliever into our bloodstream. These endorphins will help the muscle and tissue around the joints be more relaxed, and your brain will then be calmer, so you feel less pain.

Studies show that mindfulness/meditation stress reduction can reduce the pain being felt in the body. Our minds are a lot more powerful than we give them credit for. Now I am not saying everything is mind over matter, but we all know a cut often does not hurt until we see it bleeding. Meditation or healing will not cure arthritis, you will still need the drugs prescribed for you, but it can do a lot to help you manage the pain.

Chakras

Reiki and Energy healing are two very relaxing therapies. They help with dis-ease in the body. Everything is energy vibrating at different frequencies. Therefore, with energy healing, the therapist runs energy from the earth through your body and energy centres (Chakras) to help bring them back to their optimum frequency.  The environment, our thoughts, what we eat and drink all unbalances our bodies. Regular basic healing sessions can help relieve your pain and stress. Should you want to go deeper to resolve actual energy blocks, this will help keep your body balanced longer.

Massage Your Feet to Help Connect to the Earth’s Energy.

Massaging our feet ourselves or having someone do it for us is an excellent way to open our energy centres in our feet and some of our meridians so more of the earth’s energy can enter our bodies.

Start with which ever foot you like.

  1. Place your foot on to the opposite thigh if you are massaging your own feet.
  2. With your thumbs, circle all around the ball of the foot and pushing up your toes with firm pressure, do this for a couple of minutes.
  3. We then use a scissor action, moving thumbs out from the centre to the sides, do this for the ball of the foot and move down to the arch for a minute.
  4. Now take your knuckles and knead the arch, from the top of the heel to the ball of the foot. This can be done with a ball or the back of a spoon. Massaging the plantar fascia helps to stretch this ligament, doing this makes it less likely to become inflamed and cause pain when walking, known as Plantar Fasciitis.
  5. Now do the other foot.

Doing this ten-minute routine regularly will soothe aching feet, preventing plantar fasciitis, helping you walk better, improving your posture.

Opening the chakras in your feet, will help you feel more connected, help you heal quicker, improve your sleep, and focus during the day, you will also feel more benefit from meditation and other spiritual activities.

Once you have opened your feet chakras, it is good to walk on grass barefoot and really connect with the earth. If you do not have grass accessible then use a wooden or stone floor. As a last resort use a carpeted floor.

Positioning of the Chakras in the Foot.

What is Energy Healing?

The human body is composed of energy, thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and attitudes are also energy. When all the cells, molecules, and tissue, which are energy are superimposed on each other they become the human energy field. These are all vibrating at different frequencies.

Energy Healing

Therefore, energy healing is a way of balancing your energy and chakras, so they vibrate at the best frequency for your health. Everything we do, eat, think, drink affects our energy field. An energy healing session helps to free blocked energy, allowing you to release any negative thoughts and memories of the past, which may be causing blocks and disease.

Human Energy Field/Aura

Our Aura has seven levels, etheric, emotional, mental, astral, template, celestial, and causal, the Energy Field has four levels, the Physical which is our body, the Aura, Intention and Essence.

The Physical level, our body holds the patterns and tensions from the disturbances of the mental and emotional levels in our aura. These disturbances are found in the cellular memory from trauma, and beliefs during our lives.

The seven levels of the Aura are related to the chakras. This level is also our personality or ego and holds both healthy and distorted patterns, which we have developed throughout our life.   It is said disease exists on this level before manifesting in our physical body.

The level of our Intention is our life purpose. We need to align our energy to truth, to allow our life to flow with ease.

The level of Essence is the state of our pure original being. As we go through our healing journey, we display more of our essence. Our essence can be distorted or disguised by our ego.

Chakra Meditation and Balancing Your Chakras

What is a Chakra?

Chakras are like conductors filtering energy from the heavens and the earth to converge as a vortex of energy. It is this energy that stimulates various endocrine organs in the body to release hormones. As we know hormones affect our state of mind and many other processes. Each chakra relates to different parts of our bodies.  For more information on each of the chakras click on the link to the chakra below.

You can help to balance your own chakras by using the meditation below at night before you go to bed.

Chakras

  • Spend a few minutes focusing on your breathing
  • When you are ready to start breathing the colour red into your base chakra in your perineum, do this for ten breaths.
  • Now move up to your sacral chakra just below the navel and breathe in the colour orange for ten breaths.
  • Now move up to your Solar Plexus just above your navel and breathe in the colour yellow for ten breaths
  • Now move up to your heart chakra and breathe in the colour green for ten breaths.
  • Now move up to your throat chakra and breathe in the colour sky blue for ten breaths.
  • Now move up to your brow chakra and breathe in the colour indigo for ten breaths
  • Now move to your crown chakra and breathe in the colour white for ten breaths.
  • Now feel the white meeting with the sky and the red meeting with the earth.
  • Finish the meditation take the colours down your body down your legs and feel your feet connected to the floor/ground.

Keeping your chakras or energy centres balanced helps your physical health, emotional stability, and mental clarity.

Meditation

affirmations to help you meditateSoul Essence runs small local Meditation Groups of between 4 and 8 people in New Eltham.

A typical session will include a 30 to 45 minute guided meditation; all my group meditations have the same beginning to help you relax into your body. I do this to help people relax at the start; this helps them not to worry about what is coming next.  I then take you on a guided journey, which may be to help you further relax, or work on positivity, or many other emotions and subjects. As part of the meditation I also come round to each person and run some energy healing this is optional, you just need to let me know at the beginning if you would prefer not to have this.

I ask the groups to put forward suggestions for future meditations.

Integral Core Therapy

There are several reasons to have ICT:Don't be pushed around by fear
To access the loving awareness which exists within your core self and helps resolve childhood issues.
To find meaning and purpose in your life
To deal with life’s daily challenges
To provide integral healing and vision for individuals and communities
To connect with yourself and others in a heart-centred way
To support the spiritual and social paradigm shift in society

The primary intention is to access your core self which is the source of healing, wisdom, strength, and compassion. As your therapist-facilitator, I can support you whilst you are working to resolve childhood issues and to access your inner resources. The actual healer, mentor, and guide is your own integral core self.

Energy Healing

Energy Healing is a holistic therapy which treats the person rather than the symptoms. This means that it can be effective in almost any situation. It involves tracing the cause of any suffering through the physical and emotional symptoms to its roots deep within our psyche.

Our natural flow of energy always moves towards perfect health and well-being. However, when faced with difficulties in our life which we find too painful to accept, we tend to hold this unresolved energy in our aura. This creates blockages in our energy field which then depletes our vitality and can lead to ill-health and suffering.

Chakra Balancing

ChakrasIn most people most of the time there are imbalances between the front and rear aspect of each chakra and between the seven main chakras. An imbalance means that there is more energy moving through one part than another. This creates an unbalanced personality and physical body. Often when one aspect is tense, contracted or shut down then the energy will try to flow in a vicarious way.

So for instance, if someone is scared of showing their loving feelings so that the front of their heart chakra is contracted, then the rear aspect will overcompensate by expanding, such that they become overly wilful.

Distance Healing

Distance Energy Healing and Integral Core Therapy are also offered via skype or zoom if you are unable to come to see me personally. All you have to do is make an appointment; I will ring you or send you a link for a zoom meeting at the arranged time and have a session over the phone or internet. You will be asked to lie/sit down and relax by concentrating on your breathing for the energy healing which will be approximately 30 minutes. Once this has been completed I will ring you again to confirm everything is ok with you and further discussion if necessary.

For the Integral Core Therapy, this will be more talking and use of Chi Gung to help you get in touch with the suppressed emotions.

If any of the therapies above appeal to a problem you may have please contact me

Meditation – Getting Started

Candles, Orchid and Some White PebblesAny body can learn to meditate. All it takes is patience and perseverance. You don’t have to be religious or into any new age philosophy. When you decide to give it a go, you need to create the right conditions.

Your Meditation Space
It would be ideal to set aside a room which is kept for meditation only, so the spiritual energy you generate can build up and cleanse the room. However, this is the ideal and if you are unable to have the luxury of a separate meditation room choose a space perhaps in the corner of your bedroom, where you can sit and meditate without being disturbed. The area ideally will be simply furnished; all you need is an upright chair (not an armchair or comfy chair) and a table. Keep the space/room neat and tidy; open the window frequently to let fresh air circulate to cleanse it. Decorate with uplifting pictures, perhaps some crystals, candles, fresh flowers and some relaxing music in the background. This is your special place, your sanctuary.
Try to make time to meditate for 15 minutes morning or evening to start, increasing to 30 minutes or more when you become more experienced. The quality of the meditation is far more important than the quantity. Early morning is generally considered the best time for meditation, before you become absorbed in the business of the day. Choose a time which suits you and stick to it. Regular practise helps to condition and train the brain/mind. The more you meditate the easier it becomes.

Posture
The traditional posture is the lotus position, particularly in the East. However if we have not grown up doing yoga this can be uncomfortable and put you off meditation. Therefore, we can meditate just as well on a chair providing it is firm and upright. Your spine needs to be erect, your body should be relaxed and your feet firmly on the floor, hands resting lightly on your knees. The main rule for meditation is to be comfortable, this includes clothing. The purpose is to forget about the body so the mind can be free. The room should be dim and restful, not too dark that you doze off. The temperature should be warm but not stuffy and hot. Adhering to these guidelines will help you to adopt the correct mental attitude – and you will be less likely to fall asleep.
When you first start, it can be hard to ignore the noise around you. You are in a very sensitive state when you meditate, so loud noises and interruptions can jar the nerves. So ask family and friends not to disturb you, take the phone of the hook and shut the door. In order to meditate effectively you need to be relaxed. Most people carry far more tension than they realise, both in the body and in the mind. Until you are able to release this tension, it is harder to enter a condition of stillness. There are many relaxation meditations available on the internet, or you can just focus on your breathing.

You are now ready to begin a journey of self discovery.

If you would like to find out more about the benefits to the body meditation has read my previous post on Meditation here.

If you still find it hard to meditate, and would like to release your everyday tension, please contact me, I can work with you using Energy Healing to help you relax so your mind, body and spirit can work together, the result will be a balance of thought, awareness and well-being. It is in this state that healing of other illness can occur on multiple levels. Meditation can also help balance our seven chakras.
Please contact me to find out more information on meditation or to book a session.
