Growing Into Yourself: How to Honour Your Own Path

By Soul Essence New Eltham London UK

In a world full of expectations and comparisons, it’s easy to feel pressured to follow someone else’s path. Whether it’s career choices, relationships, or personal goals, we often feel the need to meet other people’s standards. But true growth comes from learning to honour your own path—listening to your inner voice and following what feels right for you. Growing into yourself means embracing who you are and trusting that your journey is unique and valuable.

Why It’s Hard to Follow Your Own Path

From a young age, we’re taught to measure success by society’s standards—getting a good job, owning a home, or starting a family. While these are meaningful goals for some, they might not align with what feels right for you.

  • Fear of judgement – Worrying about what others think can make you hesitant to follow your true desires.
  • Pressure to fit in – It’s easy to follow the crowd to avoid feeling left out or different.
  • Comparing yourself to others – Social media and everyday life often make us feel like we’re falling behind.

Trying to meet other people’s expectations can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself. Honouring your own path means letting go of these pressures and choosing what’s right for you.

How to Honour Your Own Path

Growing into yourself is a process of self-discovery, acceptance, and courage. Here are some simple ways to honour your unique journey:

1. Listen to Your Inner Voice

Your inner voice is the quiet feeling that guides you toward what feels right.

  • Take time to sit quietly and reflect on what truly makes you happy.
  • Ask yourself, “Am I doing this because I want to or because others expect it of me?”
  • Trust your instincts—even if they lead you away from the usual path.

When you listen to yourself, you begin to make choices that reflect your true values and desires.

2. Let Go of Comparison

Comparing yourself to others is a fast way to feel inadequate. But everyone’s path is different, and success looks different for each person.

  • Focus on your own progress instead of measuring it against others.
  • Remind yourself that it’s okay to go at your own pace.
  • Celebrate your unique strengths and accomplishments.

Your growth is not defined by how quickly you reach your goals but by how authentic the journey feels.

3. Define Success on Your Own Terms

Success doesn’t have to look like what society expects. It could mean feeling balanced and content, building meaningful relationships, or simply living with peace of mind.

  • Write down what success means to you—not what others expect.
  • Focus on how you feel rather than what you’ve achieved.
  • Accept that success can change over time as you grow.

By defining success for yourself, you create a life that feels meaningful and true to who you are.

4. Embrace Your Strengths and Weaknesses

Part of growing into yourself is accepting both your strengths and limitations.

  • Recognise what you’re good at and lean into it.
  • Accept that you’re not perfect—and that’s okay.
  • Use setbacks and failures as opportunities to learn rather than reasons to give up.

Growth comes from working with your strengths and being kind to yourself through challenges.

5. Be Patient with Your Journey

Growth takes time. Just like a plant doesn’t bloom overnight, becoming the best version of yourself is a slow and steady process.

  • Trust that you’re on the right path, even if you don’t see immediate results.
  • Let go of the need to rush or have it all figured out.
  • Remember that progress isn’t always visible—it often happens quietly beneath the surface.

Patience allows you to enjoy the journey rather than focusing only on the destination.

Trusting Your Own Path

Honouring your own path means accepting that your life may look different from others—and that’s a good thing. When you stop comparing, let go of outside pressure, and listen to your inner voice, you create a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.

You don’t need to follow anyone else’s timeline or definition of success. Trust that your path is unfolding exactly as it’s meant to. Growth comes not from trying to be like others but from embracing who you truly are. 🌱

Spiritual Law – Law of Healing

There are thirty-six or more spiritual laws that offer excellent ways for us to understand life on earth, some of the following text has been taken from Diana Cooper’s fantastic book “A Little Light on the Spiritual Laws”. I have already briefly explained some of the laws back in 2009, over the coming weeks, I will explain some of the laws of higher frequency. If you find this interesting, I would encourage you to read Diana’s book. I use Diana’s book when I am low or want an answer to a problem, I flick through the book and open it at a law, and more often than not, that is where I need to focus at that time.

The Law of Healing

There are only two basic emotions on earth, fear and love. When we resist our chosen experiences through fear, we create blocks in our mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. This eventually causes physical disease.

Inflexible, crystallised beliefs and mental attitudes cause tension. If you hold an organ in tension long enough, something physical manifests. Denied or suppressed emotions sit within the body until they show as physical illness.

Refusing to acknowledge your spiritual self and your own magnificence, you cut off the supply of divine energy and your physical body suffers. Ill health is caused by stuck energy. When you are happy and flowing with love, the cells in your body respond by being healthy.

If you see your energy like a flowing river, which keeps flowing unless it becomes silted up. Love is a high-frequency energy that keeps the energy in your body clear and flowing. Energy blocks like unexpressed grief, hurt, anger, or jealousy are all low vibration and to your body is like silt blocking the flow of energy. If you open the sluice gates and send a rush of water down the river, it clears and washes it into the ocean. This is what a flow of healing energy does to our body.

You must always ask permission to give anyone healing. It is not up to you to decide what is for the other person highest good. For more information on why you cannot just give healing to someone without their permission, I suggest reading the book or contacting me directly.

Quote from Diana Cooper’s book.

“Healing takes place when high-frequency energy flows through the body, transmuting the stuck energy which caused the disease.”

Understanding the spiritual laws helps us create a happy and joyous life. Energy healing can also help us follow these laws to create wealth, health and prosperity in our lives by helping to remove anger, negative beliefs etc.

Spiritual Laws – Frequency or Vibration

Fear is a low-frequency heavy vibration, whereas love calmness and peace are high-frequency light vibrations. We have all been in a situation where humour has lifted the energy. Love heals the heavy emotion of grief. Light vibration will transmute the heavy ones.

Critical and cynical people send out arrows of low-frequency energy, we struggle to be around this energy,  we make jokes to lighten the energy or move away and talk to someone else. Anger and rage are low energies and below that energy is always fear and a feeling of powerlessness. While we are calm and centred we remain in high vibration and able to be in our power and calmly speak our truth, so we can release the feelings of anger and rage.

We all know animals can pick up the frequencies we can’t. A dog will always bark/growl at someone who is scared of dogs. Horses will also respond to your energy. Children do the same they can sense when teachers or parents are stressed, and behave accordingly.

Doing things because you feel you should, will also carry a low vibration. Guilt and obligation are not good reasons to do things. When you do things you enjoy or want to do you radiate high-frequency energy. Therefore the sooner you do things that give you joy and enthusiasm, the quicker you will raise your energy and those around you to high frequency.

Use affirmations to help programme your subconscious. Use your imagination to visualise confidence, joy and beautiful colours around you.  Once you realise who you are and accept it you will start to raise yourself to a high-frequency person.

Illness and disease have a heavy vibration that blocks the flow of your life force. Healing is when high-frequency energy is sent or channelled to the ill person. Energy healing can help shift you from low vibration to high vibration contact Rosemary if you would like to discuss how energy healing could help you.

Success has a vibration, mix with successful people and your vibration should start to match theirs.

Understanding spiritual laws can help us create a happy and joyous life.

This information is based on Diana Cooper’s book “A Little Light on the Spiritual Laws”.

Suffering Panic Attacks – How to Help Yourself Cope in Life

Most of us have experienced anxiety at some time in our lives. That tense feeling, being hesitant and fearful of an approaching exam, test or interview. These situations are normally short-term and can be useful; they may make you more alert in an exam. However, the feelings may overwhelm you making you unable to concentrate.

We have all heard of the “Fight or flight” reflex, this reflex was to protect us from danger, give us the extra energy to run away. For this to happen, the anxious feelings and the fear trigger the release of a hormone called adrenalin. Adrenalin makes your heart beat faster to carry your blood to the organs which most need it. Your breathing increases to obtain more oxygen, you will sweat to stop you overheating. There are many other changes that take place in your body to help you cope with the impending danger. Once the danger has passed other hormones are released to help you relax. The “Fight of flight” reflex is very useful to help you run away from danger, however, when you want to run away from things like exams, driving tests it is not so useful because your body will take much longer to relax and you will be in an agitated state for longer. If the anxiety stays at high levels for long periods of time, you may find life difficult to deal with. The longer this goes on for, the more powerless and out of control, you may feel. If this feeling of fear or anxiety begins to overwhelm you the next stage is “Panic attacks”

Panic attacks are the exaggerated response of the body to fear and stress. You often get palpitations in your heart, possibly feeling faint, nauseous, chest pains, difficulty breathing and many more. You may start to feel you are going to have a heart attack and die. Attacks come on quickly and last from five to twenty minutes, those suffering them for longer are experiencing several attacks one after the other.

Anxiety and panic attacks can be a combination of factors. Something distressing happening to you in the past (possibly in childhood) and you were unable to deal with the emotions at the time. If things happen to you now which trigger that distress the anxiety and the emotions which have not been dealt with, and possibly trigger a panic attack. Your parents may have been anxious people and therefore this has been learnt by you in your early life.

Unfortunately, anxiety has an effect on your body and mind making you fearful, on edge, and unable to relax or concentrate. To cope with these feeling you might smoke, drink or use drugs as relaxants.

To stop the anxiety and panic attacks, learning to meditate and relax the mind is very helpful. Meditation is not all about sitting cross-legged on the floor; it is about learning to relax and focusing on a soothing voice or music. In my groups I do guided meditation, you focus on my voice as I take you on a relaxing journey to relax you.  Energy healing and integral core therapy, also benefits people suffering anxiety and panic attacks, we encourage you to go back to the fearful feelings and learn how you can deal with them.

My meditation groups are the 1st Wednesday of the month. I also do one to one sessions for meditation, energy healing and integral core therapy.
