10 Healthy Living Facts to Help you Improve your Life.

During my training as an energy healer, we covered nutrition and how processed food affects your health and energy levels. This post will cover a little about nutrition, straightforward ways to move more during the lockdown, and help your physical body. We will also cover ways to help your mind and spirit.

Healthy Eating,

Most of us know sugary and processed foods are not the best choices for a healthy diet. Processed foods are any that have added ingredients. Try to eat at least 80% of fresh food.

  1. Vegetables are packed with the nutrients our body needs; they should be a major part of your healthy diet. Try experimenting with different recipes, finding ones you like, and use them in your lunches and dinners.
  2. Eating proper meals and healthy snacks. Snacking all day makes us think we are not eating much, but we miss out on essential nutrients and eat wasted calories. Eating healthy fats and proteins in complete meals helps to fill us up. If you need a snack, the following are more nutritional and keep you fuller longer, hardboiled egg, a portion of cheese, avocado, apple or other fruit, nuts, and red pepper with guacamole, cucumber slices with hummus, dried unsweetened coconut, and olives.
  3. What we drink, there is no nutritional benefit to alcohol, fizzy drinks, or fruit squashes. The caffeine acts as a diuretic, we, therefore, need to drink more fluids to replace those lost through drinking drinks high in caffeine.  Opting for green tea, herbal tea, or black coffee (keeping our coffee intake to no more than two cups a day, preferably cutting it out altogether).  The best fluid to drink is pure plain water, there are no calories or additives to worry about.  Drinking a glass of water before every meal will make you feel less hungry, and you will be drinking three glasses a day.

Exercise

We all know exercise is good for our bodies, however, it is so easy to sit and watch telly with a snack instead.

1.Walk More

Regular movement is key to so many health benefits. Aim for at least 10,000steps a day. Start easy, with these smallways to walk more and be healthier!

  • Decide to only take the stairs if you are walking less than six floors.
  • Park further away from supermarket entrance when you go shopping.
  • Walk during your work breaks.
  • Plan a walking meeting, or take your phone call while you walk.
  • Get up ten minutes earlier in the morning and take a short brisk walk before the chaos of the day.
  • Walk your kids to or from school, walk to work if it is close.
  • Take a family walk with the kids after dinner.
  • Schedule a once a week walk with a friend.
2. Short Workouts  

Long workouts are not necessary to be healthy.  For most of us, trying to fit in more than 20 minutes is a challenge.  We can try running on the spot or doing some squats while waiting for the kettle to boil or any other time we have a spare five minutes. We can do several basic exercises at home, squats, lunges, push-ups, tricep dips, plank, wall sits, burpees, and mountain climbers, these all get our muscles working again. There is lots of information on how to do these on the internet if you have never done them. You may want to get a professional to show you, though.  Build on this slowly over time, if we have been sedentary for a while, it will take several weeks to get our bodies moving again.

Healthy Mind

This is a balanced mental and emotional state. Where you are productive, feel confident, face your fears, and learn from your mistakes. To keep our minds healthy, we need to exercise and eat healthy as I have already discussed above and get enough sleep and stay mentally active. Your brain is similar to a muscle and needs to be used like any other muscle in your body.

  1. Sleep, getting seven to eight hours of sound sleep, should be our aim. Tracking your sleep with a Fitbit or similar helps you see how well you are sleeping. In a deep sleep is where tissue growth and repair take place. If we are not getting enough deep sleep, we will not feel as refreshed in the morning. Download my tips for a Good Nights Sleep.
  2. Mental Activity. Things to keep your brain healthy include mental activity, crossword puzzles, sudoku, reading, playing cards, and doing jigsaw puzzles. These all help train your brain. There are electronic games for brain training available too. Watching television does nothing to stimulate the brain as it is a passive activity.
  3. Stress has a significant impact on our minds and can contribute to memory loss. Therefore it is important to try to reduce your stress levels. Exercise, relaxation, good sleep, many of the things already mentioned will help reduce stress. Social interaction also helps our stress levels look for ways to connect with loved ones, friends, and others, especially if you live alone. Brain atrophy has been linked to solitary confinement, making the recent periods of lockdown hard for many. Therefore, it is important to stay socially active via the many online means during this time until we can meet face to face again.

Healthy Spirit

The spiritual part of our wellness is the most personal and overlooked piece of living a healthy life. We all would like to live with meaning and purpose, when this is met, we have harmony in our life. Here are some tips for spiritual wellness.

  1. Your spiritual core. By working with a group or therapist exploring your spiritual centre, you will ask yourself deep questions about who you are and your meaning. You may meditate on Who am I? What is my purpose? What do I value most?. Doing this will help you think deeply about yourself and help you achieve fulfilment in your life, possibly clearing energy blocks that are holding you back.
  2. Meditation this is a healthy spiritual practise, where you connect to yourself. Meditation has many benefits for your health. Start slowly, if you are not used to the practice start with clearing your mind of thoughts and focusing on your breath for 3 to 5 minutes each morning before you get up and evening before you go to sleep. Once you have mastered 5 minutes increase to 10, gradually increase by 5 minutes until you can do 20 minutes.

The Law of Meditation

Meditation requires you to place yourself away from the hustle and bustle of life in order to hear the still quiet of the Divine/Source/Universe.

When you’re having a conversation with someone who is always talking and never listens, they talk right over you, you try and disconnect as soon as possible. Well the Universe will metaphorically put the receiver down if you do not listen to its replies.

If you pray and don’t take time to listen to the reply, you get know response, and you mind chatter won’t let the Divine/Source/Universe get a word in edgeways. The aim and intention of meditation is to quiet the mind, stop the internal chatter/ego long enough for Source to drop in the seeds of guidance and wisdom. During these moments we are open to inspiration and answers to our questions.

We live in heaven or hell according to our inner world. Meditation allows our divine self to expand so we free ourselves from hell and create heaven. Many people prefer to meditate by doing gardening, walking in nature, playing music, painting or drawing, silence the mind chatter and open your right brain to receive inspiration.

With any spiritual practice it helps to have a regular routine and meditate at the same time and place each day. If you can create an alter to place candles, crystals, things which are sacred to you, to raise the vibration even better.

The Law of Prayer

Prayer is communicating with God, the universe, the creator, whatever we refer to our source as. Every thought and word we send out is prayer. Worry is negative prayer, telling our source how frightened we are and reinforcing the things we don’t want to happen.

When praying we should pray from our hearts and with pure intention if we wish our prayer to be answered. If you use anger, manipulation, greed, bargaining our source is unlikely to respond to your prayer.

The Law of prayer is to ask – believing that it will be granted. Faith is an active ingredient in bringing our prayers to realisation. The moment you offer a prayer to source, begin thanking the source for it. Also make preparations for what you have asked for. Have faith that it will be granted. Many people pray with out really expecting the prayer to be answered, so they take no action. They do not realise it is faith that activates a response from the universe/source. When you pray with others and all hold the vision, it strengthens the power or the prayer.

Love wants you to have your hearts desire. Love does not want his beloved to suffer. God is love. The block to receiving is at your end.

Many people pray for something they are not prepared to receive. Diana Cooper gave the example of a person praying for a car and being offered a car from an elderly aunt and replying “I can’t possibly accept your car”. It was only later he had realised his prayer was being answered.

Asking for something bad to happen to someone else of asking for victory over someone else is a mockery of prayer. The negative energy eventually boomerangs back to hit the sender.

The Law of Affirmation

Affirmations are phrases or thoughts which we repeat until they enter our subconscious mind and therefore become part of our brains programming. Most of us affirm thoughts unconsciously all the time, we make the same statements all the time until they become our reality.

These statements may be negative or positive, our brain is like a computer it is impersonal so accepts input with out discrimination. Therefore our affirmations enter the files of our brain/unconscious mind and effect how we feel and act.

If you constantly think “I am ugly “or “I am a failure” we gradually believe we are ugly or a failure and then we act that way. These are unhelpful affirmations.

The universe arranges itself to give you what you believe. The law or affirmation states that we bring about what we affirm. By affirming what we want to be , we will become it sooner then we think. Affirm that you have what we want to have and it will magnetise towards us. When we make affirmation, speak the words with energy and intent.

Affirmation should only contain positive words/phrases. The unconscious mind cannot compute negatives, our brain/computer ignores them. Affirming “I don’t want to be like my Mum” enters the unconscious without the “don’t” as “I want to be like my Mum” Affirmations should always be in the present tense. Computers have no concept of past or future. If you affirm “I will be healthy tomorrow”, tomorrow never comes, affirm “I am healthy now”.

When you decide on an affirmation repeat it whenever you have a free moment, driving the car, walking, in the loo, swimming etc. Fill your mind with positive statements and you will soon begin to notice the difference in your life. By constantly making positive affirmations to others you help them to improve their lives. By telling your children how capable they are you help them to be capable.

I am an ascended master of great love and light.

I am an ascended being of infinite patience and wisdom.

The Law of Discrimination

As adults we are expected know right from wrong. Throughout our lives we are tested. When we are offered jobs, given guidance, meet people, e should check internally if it feels right.

At a deep level we know everything, our gut feelings let us know if someone is being honest or not if we care to listen. We often disregard this because our logical minds argue against it or we don’t want to believe it. This is overriding our intuition or gut feelings. If we do not discern we bear the resultant karma. Then we are tested again later in our lives.

To discriminate against someone on the grounds of sex, race or colour, is not spiritual. We should use discernment; ask ourselves does that person’s energy feel right as a friend or therapist? Is it comfortable to have a date with that person. We have the right to decide who you want in your life, it is discernment not judgement when we say no following our intuition.

None of us can know the whole truth while in a body. Only the creator knows that, but we should stay open and let our intuition guide us.

The Law of Responsibility

We are given responsibility when we have proved to others that we can handle certain situations, for example a business person is not promoted until he has demonstrated he can deal with all the problems he may face in his job.

Bringing a child into the world is a spiritual responsibility your spiritual growth depends on how you respond to the challenge. To bring a handicapped child into incarnation is an extra responsibility, providing more challenges and opportunities for growth if you choose to accept them. All things and people you are given to look after are responsibilities, when not responding to the challenge it is taken away and possibly presented at another time.

Everything in our lives is on loan to us. We have responsibilities to look after our children, homes, clothes books etc.. We do not get to take greater responsibility if we do not take care of our own needs. Our emotions, spirit and bodies need to be cared for . Take care of ourselves first then we are able to care for others.

With the exception of your SMALL children you are not responsible for anyone else. We are all responsible for our own feelings, destiny and we do not have the right to carry someone else’s burden for them, doing this will prevent their growth.

If we cannot tell people about a situation or how you feel in case they feel hurt, angry, jealous or depressed, we are taking responsibility for their feelings, we are doing them an injustice. When we speak honestly about our feelings you are taking responsibility for yourself and in doing so you release the other people as well as yourself.

Many of us have a tendency to project our own feelings onto others. We do this when we know we will feel angry and we expect others to as well. When we say we can’t tell Sue because she will be so depressed we are projecting our depression on to Sue. Sue may well be depressed, but that is her responsibility.

When we understand this law we no longer blame or project our feelings onto others . We must however take total responsibility for every thing that happens in our lives, for every feeling that we have, every emotion and thought

A wise master asks the following questions ‘What did I do to make this happen’. ‘What thought or feeling did I send out?’. ‘What actions did I take in the past to create this?’ Then ‘How can I change this?’

The Law of Reincarnation

Carne means flesh. Incarnation is when our spirit enters a physical body. Hence re-incarnation is when we return to the physical body more than once. Under this law if there is anything unresolved or incomplete at the end of a lifetime our soul is allowed an opportunity to return in human form to resolve and complete it.

Where a husband has harmed his wife , they will wish to return together so that the soul of the husband can repay. This may be as husband and wife or parent and child, student and teacher or as friends. Communities which are in conflict or at war will come back to earth together to see if their souls can find peace together instead of battle. Diana Cooper explains living on earth as a learning experience where our lessons are presented to us in the form of experiences. The breaks and holidays are known as death. We have a holiday in spirit before returning to school in flesh. Just as at school we have end of year reports to review, we review each lifetime when we die, with our guides, angels and spiritual mentors. We decide which lessons we need to redo.

There are many reasons why we reincarnate, to put right past wrongs, repay our debts, to experience and strengthen ourselves, learn more about emotions, sexuality and other lessons only available on earth. To help teach, be a light or to serve on this planet. Earth is a planet of free choice, every thought, word or deed eventually manifests into our life. Once we have mastered the lessons of the earth, our souls can serve in many of the higher light establishment of the universes. In Diana’s book she defines baby souls, toddler souls, teenage souls, middle aged souls and old souls.

The Law of Karma

Hate and anger are damaging energies. When they are sent out they will return to us in some form. This maybe a dog bite, ill health, an accident or someone hating us.

The law of karma is “as you give so you receive”, bad thoughts and deeds return to us as does kindness, thoughtfulness, love, joy etc. However we live these qualities we will at sometime receive a similar quality back into our life.

Karma is recorded and balanced by the universe. Loving thoughts, emotions, words and deeds are credits. Negative ones are debits. These are called up by the universe when we least expect it. When we are unaware of karma we call it fate or luck.

Families are our karma, our soul chooses our family before we are born. Difficulties in families may be because of unresolved feelings or situations in a past life. People often say “we can choose our friends but not our families”. The fact is our higher self chooses our families and we choose our friends according to our personality. Mindsets that we bring into this life from previous ones are also our karma. If we have a mindset of not being loveable, the belief will draw things into our lives to make us feel unlovable. Positive beliefs create good karma in our lives. We are responsible for our mindset, so change the programmes if they do not now serve us. We can only do it ourselves.

Our health is our karma. When we chose to incarnate we chose our family, our life’s challenges, our mission our body and genetic predisposition. If we chose a family predisposed to illness, the challenges provided by this is our karma. Our moment to moment choices or thoughts, and emotions will affect our vitality and health. The bible describes karma as “you reap what you sow”. If we look after our seedlings carefully we get healthier plants.

The balance sheet of our karma is known as our akashic record. Our personal record is updated by our guardian angel, who is with us all throughout our lives, sometimes know as the recording angel. Karma is carried forward from lifetime to lifetime. The higher our vibration the more quickly karma returns to us. If we feel we never get away with anything we are subject to instant karma. Which is when, what we give out comes back to us instantly. This is a sign we are becoming more evolved, our karmic sheet is being kept up to date.

The Law of Balance and Polarity

We all would like to live a balanced life, however for most of us we swing from one polarity to another. Making us feel very unbalanced and un centred.

If we have had lifetimes of riches we will need to experience the opposite poverty. If we become a bully with a lot of hatred and hurt towards others we will need to experience victimhood. We all have unresolved aspects within us and our aim is to integrate the polarities so that we can live in balance. When we have balanced the polarities in our life we can accept and live ourselves and let others be themselves.

Masculine energy is doing, thinking, logical, aggressive, while the feminine energy is being, creating, intuitive, and passive. Our aim is to balance these internally so that we can listen to our intuition and act on it; we can have creative ideas and think them through to fruition. We can rest and play, nurture and protect. If any of these qualities are out of balance we are called on to recentre ourselves and make new life choices.

We are always seeking balance, when we find it the lesson is learnt for all time. Balancing aspects of our personality is similar to riding a bike. When you first learn you fall to one side or the other. Through practise you wobble and gradually ride smoothly. Even if you don’t ride a bike for years, you will be able to get back on and ride easily nothing like the experience when you were first learning. This point of equilibrium is the balance we seek in all things.

The Universal energy supports our free will to achieve our desired outcome whether it be good or bad. Just be aware success in bad things results in karma that has to be repaid, some place, some life.

In spiritual terms success, is believing in yourself, doing the best you can, and achieving the highest outcome for all.

To allow the Law of Success into your life you will need to let go of the old and keep a positive focus on where you wish to be. You cannot succeed when you don’t know where you are going. If you are going on holiday, you decide a place book a hotel, means of travel etc. You then set off to your destination. Many people do not succeed because they spend too much time and energy planning their journey but they never start.

If you win/earned millions and are stressed out you are not deemed successful in spiritual terms. Nor are you if you have climbed to the top of your profession and harmed others on the way. You are successful when you achieve your aim through co-operation and empowering others.
